Govt. Engineering College, Hassan - Library's Online Catalogue, generally called as "OPAC" was inaugurated / launched by Dr. Karisiddappa, Vice Chancellor of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi on Sunday, 18-12-2016 at College Auditorium. (On the occasion of felicitation to honourable Vice Chancellor, VTU) Sri. HU Talawar, Director, Dept. of Technical Education (DTE), Karnataka, Dr. Chidananda Gowda, Retd. Vice Chancellor of Kuvempu University, Shimoga had graced the moment by accompanying honourable Vice Chancellor in this event and appreciated the library work. GEC Hassan Library is the first Government Engineering College among 10 colleges in Karnataka for having chosen and implemented (as on date) Koha, an open source Integrated Library Management System for automation of library's day-to-day activities.
